Disaster Relief

The SICOT Disaster Relief Committee is dedicated to supporting orthopaedic and trauma care in regions affected by natural disasters, humanitarian crises, and armed conflicts. Recognising the critical role of musculoskeletal healthcare in emergency response and recovery, the Committee works to mobilise expertise, resources, and international collaboration to assist affected communities and healthcare providers.

Through partnerships with local and international organisations, the Committee seeks to facilitate educational initiatives, volunteer engagement, capacity building, and the provision of essential orthopaedic knowledge and support where it is needed most. The Committee also serves as a platform for SICOT members to contribute their skills and experience in response to humanitarian emergencies.

By fostering global solidarity within the orthopaedic community, the SICOT Disaster Relief Committee aims to improve access to quality musculoskeletal care, strengthen local healthcare systems, and support the long-term recovery of populations impacted by disaster and crisis.
